Summary/Abstract: The dynamics of urban growth and the problems of the quality of their environment are conducive to research into the possibilities of creating the efficient use of integrated natural systems. Developed solutions integrate plant and architectural forms (so-called green infrastructure). A new approach to the function of greenery in the city are the urban farms that allow the production of plants for the local community. Interdisciplinary research has been undertaken to identify the problem of shaping modern structure and development parameters and green infrastructure as a system of interdependent elements of the urban environment. Present results are presented with respect to contemporary spatial planning. The publication is a voice in the discussion on spatial planning, indicating the conditions and the way of shaping integrated development with green systems in order to preserve the environmental balance of urban space.
