Summary/Abstract: Psychoanalysis and culture are brought face to face, in order to point up both the masks of theunconscious desire and the psychological reality of the modern human being seeking for values.The aim of this article is to hold a dialogue with the Freudian discourse about culture. An invitationto be aware of the importance of desire in building up the being, this metapsychologic lesson of theculture conveys a duty of knowledge, memory and watchfulness.
