Educational role of father in family

Summary/Abstract: Man is called to fatherhood. In the light of Christian faith the fatherhood is a gift and a vocation and it is an image and likeness of the fatherhood of God. The fatherhood is a fundamental experience of man. As a base of the responsible fatherhood must be maturity of man - husband and father. There is different kind of fathers: traditional, lenient, absent, weak, excellent. Father fulfils different roles and functions in the family, like: procreator, educator, and helper in emotional, moral and religious growth of his children. Father of the family has to be constantly present in moral and religious education of children. Christian father has to give a good example of Christian living. Saint Joseph is an excellent example of a good father.
