Summary/Abstract: This article presents the fi fty years of existence of the Catholic University of lublin biblical school, beginning in 1956. This period has been divided into three periods, when at the helm of the school stood fi rst its founder Rev. prof. S. Łach (1956–1976), then the next two directors of the Institute (Fr H. Langkammer OFM and Rev. J. Kudasiewicz, years 1976–1988), and fi nally the creator of the modern Institute of Biblical Studies, Rev. prof. R. Rubinkiewicz SDB. The article ends with a short characteristics of their activity. A list of defended doctorates, habilitations, together with the indication of the studies in Rome,COMPLETES this historic review of lublin bible scholarship.
