ELECTION ORGANS IN HUNGARY

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the electoral bodies functioning In Hungary In the events of the parliamentary election, EP election, local elections, and also In the voting process of national and local plebiscite popular initiatives. After a brief introduction to the abovementioned elections and votings, follows the explanation of general characteristics of the election bodies, such as their types and members. The paper touches upon the fact that the Hungarian electoral system distinguishes election committees and election offices; both of them have their particular tasks in elections and votings. It is also mentioned in detailed that the election committees consist of elected and delegated members who have (almost) identical rights and obligations. In the end of the paper a special Annex is attached to make the understanding of types and tasks of each election organ easier.
