Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of the article is to assess the risk of intelligent buildings exploitation in terms of the possibility of covering them with insurance protection. Design/Methodology/approach – The article is written on the basis of literature on intelligent buildings, as well as the results of research by authors dealing in equipment and finishing of these objects. Findings – The article presents and describes the basic insurance parameters of intelligent buildings from the point of view of fire and other random events insurance. Originality/value – This is a proposal of a new insurance product that should be used in the near future. Insurance companies should gradually become familiar with the specifics of the intelligent building insur-ance. It is necessary to provide training to insurance intermediaries and claim settlement services.
