Summary/Abstract: What is the role of a judge? a court? a constitution? Is there a correct answer to every legal dispute? a correct approach? Does the life experience of a judge matter? Should it? The remarkable 2009-10 term of the United States Supreme Court (the Court) saw many significant rulings, generated much debate, and raised core issues of law. The past term underscored some worrisome trends which threaten to erode public faith in the Court as an impartial arbiter and in the American judicial system as a beacon of the constitutional rule of law.
