Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the apostolic constitution Veritatis gaudium on ecclesiastical universities and faculties, issued by Pope Francis at the end of 2017, which was published on 29th January 2018. The author compares this new law with the regulation based on the apostolic constitution Sapientia Christiana of Pope John Paul II of 1979 and highlights the most significant changes that the apostolic constitution brings to faculties of theology.
