DRAMATICAL WORKS OF DAVID DRÁBEK OR THE CRITIC OF THE “MCDONALDISATION“

Summary/Abstract: The article of L. Jungmannová deals with the phenomenon of McDonaldization in the work of a playwright David Drábek (born 1970). First it focuses on specific ways of the author’s poetic: on the open structure of plays, mixing of genres and pseudotransmedia montage. Then it follows features of McDonaldization and procedures of its critique projected in his plays: substitution of quality by quantity, abolishment of a difference between reality and fiction, emphasis of the aspect of amusement, addiction to media, falseness of advertisement, condemnation of commertionalization and decline of communcation.
