Summary/Abstract: The author attempted to correlate the findings received in the course of a study of Phanagoria's commercial relations by two categories of archaeological sources: amphora profile fragments and amphora stamps. Calculation of average volumes of amphorae and absolute density function (“annual ratio”) allowed establishing that the trends in commercial relations shown by stamps and amphora legs are almost identical. The existing dissimilarities can be explained by some technicalities of sampling: the difference in the number of fragments included in samples, the origin of sampling just from one segment of the site, etc.
