Summary/Abstract: Principal source currency of the country is the price of oil per barrel constitutes, for several decades, the only barometer of the financial health of the nationaleconomy (97% of foreign exchange earnings are derived from the sale of hydrocarbons).Over a decade marked by an almost constant rise in oil and revenue running intohundreds of billions of petrodollars, none of the oil exporting countries have realized anyfundamental reform aimed at diversifying its economy. Therefore, return at case 1986 or1996, periods when the price per barrel was the lowest and where the countriesconcerned has toiling to balance their budgets and paying off their external debt. Thequestion which arises of itself is to know whether the sudden drop in revenues due to thedrastic decline in oil prices (-50%) will impact the all of country's economy and theeconomy of citizens.
