Summary/Abstract: The process of studying the biography of the public figure, scientist and founder of Kharkov University V. N. Karazin was described in the article. The study design of the massif of publications was described. Historiographical images of V. N. Karazin which have been formed in Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Russian, Czech, British, American as well as the emigrant literature of the mid-19th – beginning of the 21st centuries were detected and characterized.
