Effectiveness of family capital groups listed on the WSE

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the problems of family formation and development of equity groups. In general, family businesses are identified with the small and medium enterprises. However, there is a group of family businesses that grow larger and form groups of companies. Most family businesses, currently operating as holding companies, started form small businesses. In Poland, we can observe of more and more family holding companies playing a significant role in the economy. This article attempts to assess the ownership structure of family capital groups and its impact on the financial situation of the group.
