Summary/Abstract: Electronic journals are becoming more and more popular means of communication among academics. „British Museum Studies in Ancient Egypt and Sudan” (BMSAES) is an example of a journal that uses the latest technologies. Its editors have focused on creating a credible and reliable magazine on Egyptology that enables international cooperation between scientists and provides free and current information. BMSAES's idea is also that there should not be any limitations to journal frequency and volume, but it should be possible to include multimedia. To professionally implement those ideas, the editors publish detailed article submission guidelines on their website. The essential issue is the review process - articles are peer-reviewed by the British Museum experts. Apart from Egyptology matters, editors deal also with the electronic journals topic. Until now two articles on that issue have been published. The creators of the journal contribute not only to Egyptology studies, but also spread the idea of creating new scholarly electronic journals.
