Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the latest publication of Rolf Fieguth entitled Invitation to “Quidam”. A Portrait of Cyprian Norwid’s poem (Kraków 2014). The review highlights the specificity and originality of the work, noted by the researcher, and emphasizes demonstrated polymorphism of Norwid’s fictional genre and the complexity of the poem’s plot. The article highlights the author’s interest in artistic and sculptural imagination of the poet, which explains numerous references and contexts identified in the publication. It draws attention to the reliable interpretation of a number of key passages and their careful analysis of e.g. behaviour and gestures of Norwid’s characters. The epic workshop of Norwid, presented in the work as a modern post-romantic and pre-modern author, is also recognized.
