Summary/Abstract: Strange fronts have been formed on the question of the Olympic boycott: on the one hand US President Jimmy Carter with his allies, who behaves even after the failed military intervention in Iran as a defender of the right of self-determination of nations - on the other hand those who, in the Names of separation of sport and politics, have always allowed sport to be abused for the most reactionary political purposes. Socialists in East and West should thoroughly analyze the situation before they join.
