Summary/Abstract: The article is concerned with the distribution and correlation of horse remains, chariots and harness in the burials of the intashta, Petrovskaya and Pokrovskaya cultures as well as the Potapovsky cultural type. Three types of the combination of archaeological traits are evidenced: A1) horse bones are placed into the grave and are constantly accompanied by chariots and details of harness (there are several atypical cases when horse bones lay on the grave cover); B1) horse skeletons lay on the grave cover but chariots and elements of harness are fairly seldom; B2) horse skeletons lay on the edge of the grave pit, chariots and harness as a rule are absent. Each of the combinations corresponds to certain cultural unit. The types A1 (including atypical one) and B1 are related to the Sintashta culture. The atypical variant of the type A1, types B1 and B2 are connected with the Petrovskaya culture and Potapovsky cultural type. The type B2 occurs only in the Pokrovskaya culture. The istribution in question displays the chronological relation between the cultures to be discussed and supports the idea about the development from the Sintashta culture to Pokrovskaya culture.
