Summary/Abstract: The great artist and organizer of the Hungarian avant-garde literature and painting,Lajos Kassák was said to be a constructivist creator. His principle was the act of desemiotisation, which means the elimination of signification, and particularly sets the basic course of a constructive person’s life. Kassák’s critical studies or essays on his lyrical paragon Sándor Petőfi become confessions of a self-made man’s avant-garde thinking. According to Kassák, Petőfi was not only the most famous romantic poet of the 19 century, but he regarded his favourite writer as a real expressionist who could accomplish the idea of desemiotisation along his art and life.
