Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is a special education resource called ’The Textbook of Hungarian Medical Language’, which is written for medical students. The study examines how language ideologies appear in the textbook as well as what kind of views of language are expressed. The authors of the book include physicians and other natural scientists and a few professional linguists. The analysis proves that in this textbook the language is described in an eclectic way and the folk linguistic point of view plays a central role, therefore the textbook is not suitable as an up-to-date education resource.
