Chersonese Necropolis in Classic and Hellenistic Periods: History of its Study, Problems

Summary/Abstract: The author minutely analyses history of archaeological study of the Chersonese urban necropolis in the Classic and Hellenistic Time. Although achievements of these studies appear to be significant, the scholars should pay attention to the following problems: a) clarification of necropolis’ topography; b) dating the undated burials and correction of the dates on already dated burials; c) such features like burial vaults and family tombs also require archaeological study.
