Summary/Abstract: The present paper investigates film interpretation from the point of view of hermeneutic experience. In the discussion of the relationship between hermeneutics accentuating work of art as interpreted reality and the seventh art directly using the visual elements of already existing things, mention is made of the relationship between verbality and visuality, emphasising that these notions are rather complementary than distant. Occasion for this is offered by the investigation of the cooperation between German director Wim Wenders and Austrian writer Paul Handke, while the opportunities of creating and receiving words transforming into pictures and pictures recorded as texts are also being mapped.
