Summary/Abstract: In this study we aimed to isolate and analyze all known caves whose name resembles that in them in the past exploited snow or ice. It is well known that in some karst forms; such as caves; caverns; sinkholes; throughout the year keeps snow and ice. This happens most often in karst forms that are on the higher elevations; mountain regions. Entrance to these facilities is mainly oriented to the north; northwest and northeast. Keeping ice and snow in caves and pits favors low temperature in the house and poorly ventilated.Exploitation of snow and ice from the caves in the past carried out in two purposes or two human needs:To exploit the ice for commercial purposes,Exploitation of snow and ice for water use (Snježnica).From Cadastre caves of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mulaomerović et all. 2006) it is possible to allocate a total of 96 caves whose name resembles that in the past they existed exploitation of snow and ice.
