Summary/Abstract: The situational documentary film style has no official definition yet. It is an expression used mainly by some young Hungarian filmmakers from Transylvania, to characterize the specific style of their films. This style is related to the cinéma vérité style from France, and to the direct cinema of the USA and Canada, and even to the fictional documentary style of the so-called Budapest school, but also shows some differences. So, does the situational documentary exist as a specific style, and is it a specific Transylvanian Hungarian style?
