Monitoring of Hungarian language audiovisual programmes

Summary/Abstract: Our study concentrateson the language use specificities of audiovisual media in Cluj Napoca and other cities west of it.The research monitored the language use of collaborators of news broadcasts, talks hows, and magazines. We did not look at the language use of the invited guests of these programmes. Our aim was to investigate on these models to what extent reporters and presenters observed regional common linguistic norms. The monitoring of Hungarian language radio- and television programmes of western Romania was conducted by faculty members of the Department of Journalism and the Department of Communication and Public Relations of Babes-Bolyai University (Zselyke András,Hanna Orsolya Vincze , Noémi Zörgő, Anna Keszeg, Júlia Vallasek, Gábor Györffy, Ágnes Tamás,Réka Nagy, Szende Száfta).
