Summary/Abstract: Up until now, few graves found in the Roman province of Moesia Inferior contained hand-made pottery (only 49 from over 1500). Based on the vessels discovered in the 49 graves, the author proposes a typology of the pottery, divided into three types: cups and bowls, mugs (with three variants) and jars (with analogies in the North-Pontic area and in the Dacian world prior to the Roman conquest, the last ones with seven variants). The deposition or the use of the hand-made pottery in Roman graves from Moesia Inferior is an isolated phenomenon, both as number and as territorial distribution. We can speak of a funerary custom only for two areas in Moesia Inferior – the northern Dobrudja (Enisala) and a small region located in the western part of Moesia Inferior (Sredina, Velikovo, General Toševo).
