Summary/Abstract: The function of the Turkish organization known as Turkish Akhi and Akhism is important to the history of Çorum. Both moral and cultural values are rooted in the principles of Akhism. Akhism provides both advice as well as sanctions for people yet these advices and sanctions are not of a personal nature but are social in their focus. They try to regulate the social life of people. In regards to Akhism, this is the union of both artisans and merchants and was established in Anatolia in the 13th century. On one hand, they were interestedin the moral decency of artisans and merchants in the zawiyas established by them. Beside their service in Anatolian social life these artisans and merchants also participated in the defense of their homeland and in jihad when it was necessary. Resources show that the Ahi Evran Organization was founded inKırşehir. We tried to explain in this study that it was first founded in Kayseri.
