Summary/Abstract: Prelate-vicar Hirschler József was the founder and editor-in-chief of the Művészeti Szalon illustrated monthly journal. The journal was founded in 1926 and it was edited in the Marianumroman-catholic girls’ school called the White Madonna and it was printed in the Providencia press operated in the basement of the school. The journal published writings focused mainly on art history and promoting of knowledge. It offered a perspective on universal art trends and local events of fine arts.
