World banking and financial crises – the case of Sweden and USA

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the current issues of banking and financial crises in well developed countries. In particular it aims to present similarities, differences as well as analogies between the Swedish financial crisis in early nineties and current financial crisis in the United States of America. The author presented the definition of the financial crisis as well as banking crisis and listed all the financial and banking crises since the II World War. Finally, the important factors influencing the Swedish and American financial systems and their globalization and deregulation related problems were presented.
