Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is the adaptation of the Polly MIP model for the Romanian presidential elections and other multiparty systems. Along the campaign tools used by political parties in the US, agenda setting became an effective strategic method. Thus presidential and other televised debates are central elements of the elections. In Europe these crucial elements are not strategically integrated in the campaigns. We will argue that agenda setting used strategically can significantly improve the results obtained by the candidate and it also can help strategists of the parties to monitor the performance of the candidate along the campaign. One of the main tools for this the recently developed Polly MIP model is a practical method of predicting election results in biparty systems.
