Summary/Abstract: The article covers a problem of local development modeling. The necessary condition, under which the implementation of this process is the most effective, is the utilization of objective methods and measures of analysis and evaluation of local economic potential. Only such a complex activity, comprising a long-term economic policy encompassing a development strategy preparation and a long-term financial planning, enables to implement multi-year development programs and investment projects, and thus allows to achieve the established strategic aims of munipalities’ development.
