Summary/Abstract: In the article, the following three issues are discussed: first, Milorad Popović Šapčanin’s visit to Budapest in February 1890; secondly, the awarding of the doctoral degree to Jovan Jovanović Zmaj in the University of Budapest; and thirdly, the translation of Serbian short stories in Hungarian in the late 19th–early 20th centuries.
