Summary/Abstract: The first event continued the “Bulgarian uprisings” for political independency (statesmanship) from before 1878. The second one provided – again with respect to continuity – an Eastern Rumelian autonomy model and the example of the Unification to those parts of the ethnical territories remaining “under the yoke” of the Ottoman empire. There is no doubt that the rather dynamic and continuous military clash between Byzantium and the Bulgarian Tzardom from the 70’s of the 10th century until the end of the second decade of the 11th century still attracts and will attract scholarly attention.
