Summary/Abstract: Most talent definitions focus on 3 basic aspects: the outstanding capabilities (ie general sense, specific mental ability, creativity and motivation), exceptional abilities, and useful activity for society. In order to have the talents of talented students a real capacity and thus a useful performance for society, there is a need for motivation and positive environmental impacts (family, school, peer group and the positive effects of society). Gagne's three-dimensional talent model shows most remarkably how sophisticated talent can be derived from sleeping talent through the proper environmental catalysts.
