Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of hand-made ceramics of the early Cherniakhov culture as an ethno-cultural and chronological indicator. An attempt is made to show the origin of these or other forms of hand-made vessels in early stage of the Cherniakhov culture from vessels of Przewor, Wielbark, Dacian, Lipitskaya, Zarubinetskaya and other cultures. The author offers a classification of forms of hand-made vessels and a range of analogies in areas of neighboring cultures. The author points out that the early forms of ware disappeared rather fast and explains this fact by dilution of early ethnic traditions in the Cherniakhov culture.
