The participation of European funds in accomplishing objectives of a town development strategy on the example of the Civitas renaissance project in Szczecinek

Summary/Abstract: Since Poland’s becoming the EU member, European assistance funds have become a considerable component of the budget of development strategies of the majority of Polish communes. The possibilities of gaining financial support for territorial units are very widespread and result both from national operation programs and EU Lisbon Program. The paper presents the share of European funds in the development strategy of the town of Szczecinek with particular stress on the subsidizing of actions within the framework of Civitas Renaissance Project which is now the biggest undertaking realized in the town both in respect to financial means engaged in it and the range a quantity of undertaken actions.
