Summary/Abstract: Computer newspeak is a language, dialect, the cipher used by the Internet environment. Among young consumers it is often used for dynamic communication but also for an expression of inclusion to a particular circle, to emphasize the originality and distinction of pure linguistic background of the rest of the Internet. Slang used in the communication takes place in chat rooms, message boards, e-mails and instant messaging, but also in the use of mobile phones (verbal communication, text messages). The basic components include acronyms, leet speak, emoticons, linguistic borrowings, internet memes and special ways of writing text (like one know in Poland as ‘pokemon writing’). The effects of computer newspeak go far beyond language. Newspeak phenomenon can be observed in all stages of the purchasing process of young consumers: identifying ways to fulfilling the need, the information gathering phase, the consumption or use of the product, evaluate the product and its actions or in expressing opinions about the product.
