The City of Warsaw as an Example of Self Assessment of the Management Control as the Tool of Efficient Managing of Local Government Units

Summary/Abstract: In 2010 a public finance reform has been initiated and the management control has been introduced. The main goal of this article is the analysis of the institution of self assessment of the management control and the evaluation of the practice of applying management control in local government units on the example of the city of Warsaw. The analysis has been conducted concerning both formal aspects of its functioning and the merits issues. Practical form and organization of self assessment of the managing control in the city of Warsaw has been presented. The method has been described on the base of possibilities of computer system which is used to efficient data analysis.
