Differences in Long-term Financial Forecasts for Polish Provincial Governments

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to assess the degree of diversification of long-term financial forecasts created by provincial governments in Poland. The study focuses on forecasts from the years 2014–2016. It was pointed out that there are significant differences between individual provinces in relation to: the frequency of forecasts’ movements, the time horizon of forecasts and the different dynamics in forecasts for the main budget parameters (revenues, expenditures, debt). The study also compares the differences between the projected budget parameters of forecasts enacted in subsequent years by each province.
