Social opportunities and threats due to RFID technology

Summary/Abstract: RFID is a noncontact method of identification, electronic reading and writing data using radio communication. Currently, it is successfully used in the manufacturing industry, transport, hospitals, or on the ski slopes or as an anti-theft systems in supermarkets. Each year gets more and more supporters but can also be observed movement against RFID technology. Used improperly, is a potentially threat to consumer privacy and civil liberties. Indeed, for some time, microchips with a thickness of several microns can be found already in the notes, the clothes, and in some countries are even implanted under the skin. The question therefore arises, at which point there is invisible boundary at which the crossing, the application of RFID technology is immoral and endangers the safety of the public.
