The Role and the Tasks of IT Security Audit on the Example of the Government Sector Unit

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this paper is to discuss issues related to the methodology of the technology audit, indication of the main areas of audit and presentation of a set of methods and techniques to be use in the process of the implementation of the technology audit. Design/methodology/approach – This paper is a theoretical-methodical and used the standard approach to the methodology of the research organizations. Findings – Article presents the essence and importance of technological audit, the methodological concept and the main areas of research. Characterized stages and operations methodology and techniques presented a set of methods that can be used in the research process. Originality/value – The innovative elements concern the indication of areas of research, the collection of methods and techniques of specific technology audit and its correlation with other aspects of the company.
