The Level of Participation of Residents in Co-management of the Commune. On the Example of the Selected Rural Communities of the Lodzkie Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the level of participation of rural communities inhabitants of the Lodzkie Voivodeship in the process co-management of the municipality. The level of participation was based on three main forms, such as participation in public consultations, participation in public meetings and local activities. The level of participation is considered asan indicator of the advancement of rural local governments transition from bureaucratic administration to the management based on idea of governance. The presented results show the low level of public participation of the examined municipalities inhabitants, which leads to the conclusion that the stage of transformation of public management is poorly advanced in them.
