Summary/Abstract: The abundance of metaphors and analogies in the symbolistic poetry is closely related to the desire for intellectualization and idealization of the lyric, that the symbolistic movement was promoting. This new concept was adopted differently according to the will and the resources of each poet, making the usage of these figures of speech a factor of individualization
