Summary/Abstract: Mainstream economists (and especially neoclassical ones) treat physics as their methodological standard. Thus, apart from using mathematical formalism to describe economic phenomena, they should also comply with the dimensional analysis. Why do they shun it, then? This article is a continuation of discussions on dimensional analysis in economics presented in The Economic Studies in 2006 and 2007. It describes problems with the use of dimensional analysis in economics and proceeds to critical analysis of Polish economists’ opinions presented in the papers on dimensional analysis published in 2006 and 2007 in The Economic Studies. The third part of the paper presents the results of Charles Wiggins Cobb and Paul Howard Douglas research published in 1928. it also shows how modern use of the Cobb-Douglas function in contemporary literature and economics textbooks differs from the original proposal of Cobb and Douglas.
