Summary/Abstract: The article examines the relation between political and legal determinants in the context of the modern constitutional amendment process in Ukraine. The author analyzes the influence of the political process and political culture on the process of modernization of the Constitution of Ukraine and the role of social and political transformations in formation of the legislative background of the state power system. The author substantiates the necessity of balancing political and legal logics of the modern constitutional process in order to adhere to fundamental principles of the state governed by the rule of law.
