The Use of Currency Options in the Context of Legal Norms in Force During the Financial Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research in this article focuses on the analysis of existing legal norms in the context of the use of forward foreign exchange instruments. Hypothesis contains in a definition of currency options use by financial institutions in the period before the world financial crisis which could expose on the company and cause an unlimited risk of loss. Considerations conducted by the author of the article focuses on the identification of the essence of hedging instruments and its application on the market. An author pays attention on legal norms, which usage should reduce the risk of loss in a business, and should enable the correct understanding of the used instrument nature in terms of the concluded agreements.
