Determinants of Capital Structure in a Company

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – Goal of the following work is to present dependencies and conditions concerning determinants of capital structure together with their relationship to the effectiveness of enterprise value creation. Influence of the capital categories and various approaches concerning capital structure have also been accented. Design/methodology/approach – Paper focuses on review of the subject literature and revealing the dependencies in the field of capital structure determinants. Findings – The effect of the following work is emphasising the dependencies in the field of capital structure determinants, which constitutes a very important factor in enterprise operations financing. Originality/value – Paper emphasises the dependencies between the partial problems that are part of capital structure shaping problem. Special attention has been paid to the factors influencing the capital structure. The reason was that in the literature a lot of emphasis is put on capital sources, their classification, methods of acquiring them and methods of economic calculation. On the other hand shaping of the capital structure is treated as a secondary issue.
