The Financial Effectiveness in Selected Hospitals From the Lower Silesia Area in the Years 2012–2014

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of the paper is the comparative analysis of financial effectiveness in selected hospitals from the Lower Silesia area in the years 2012–2014. Methodology – The comparative effectiveness test were made by using the nonparametric method – DEA. Results – The results presents a considerable variation between the medical units that have been surveyed. It was proved that improving functioning of hospitals, without increasing their funding, is possible to achieve. Originality/value – Despite that the National Health Service is one of the greatest public payers, it doesn’t conduct researches of effective management of funds in medical units. This comparative analysis can be used as an initial material for an extensive study of the problem.
