Summary/Abstract: The article presents, with many useful and vivid details, both the main political and military events which took place along the more than 30 days of combat operations in the recent war fought between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and the way in which many influential newspapers in the USA reacted to this new war in the Middle East. Each major military or diplomatic event is accompanied by some media reactions and one of the most important assets of the article is the fact that all sorts of opinions and attitudes are taken into account: both liberal points of view (directly condemning both Israel and USA) and hard-line neoconservative ones (strongly supporting retaliatory use of force against terrorist entities of all sorts).
