Summary/Abstract: The nature of the contemporary globalized world, migration trends and environmental concerns bring along new issues, cultural patterns and religious models that are little known in our geographical region. This paper focuses on presentation of two Eastern traditions, Hinduism and Buddhism, in the media environment in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. An analysis was made of the content, frequency and way of presentation and the potential educational nature of presented information. Questions arise about how much we can stay immune to knowledge of Eastern cultural and religious traditions and whether they should get more attention and media coverage as well.
