The Role of Accounting in European-union-funded Projects

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – the purpose of the article is to analyse the objective scope of accounting from the point ofview of the realization of European-Union-funded (EU-funded) projects.Design/methodology/approach – the following research methods were used in the study: source and documentanalysis, observation method, deductive and inductive reasoning.Findings – the study stresses that accounting is the essential information system required for the proper realizationof EU-funded projects.Originality/value – the following hypothesis is stated in the article: each entity should adjust its accountingsystem to the informational requirements of EU-funded project.
